Community Guidelines

Destin works because people are honest about where they have been. These are the rules that keep it usable.

The short version

Write about places, not about people. Post photos you took. Do not use Destin to target anyone.

What is not allowed

Content that breaks these rules is removed, and repeat accounts are suspended. When you report something, you pick the closest reason from the Report menu inside the app.

The following are never allowed, and the most serious of them can be blocked automatically before they ever post:

This also covers content that is not illegal but is clearly meant to demean someone. If a review is about a person rather than a venue, it does not belong here.

Reporting something

Open the menu on any post, comment or profile and choose Report. Pick the closest reason. The person you report is not told who reported them.

Some content is also checked automatically before it posts, and can be blocked if it clearly breaks these rules. Anything you report, though, is read by a person, not a filter. Sending several reports about the same thing does not make it move faster.

Blocking someone

Blocking is separate from reporting and takes effect immediately. Open their profile and choose Block. They lose access to your posts, your comments and your profile, any friendship between you ends, and they are not told. You can undo it under Settings, in Blocked Accounts.

Blocking someone does not report them. If something broke the rules, do both.

What happens after a report

Reports are reviewed and acted on. Depending on what we find, content is left alone, removed, or the account is suspended. We do not tell you the outcome of a report about someone else, because that would be a way of learning things about their account.

If we got it wrong

If your content was removed or your account was actioned and you think it was a mistake, email minka@dstn.app and we will look again.
